Another Hiyasichuka (Nihonbashitei style)

8:22:00 AM 0 Comments

I’ve said it again and again. Ever since I discovered Yamazaki's Hiyasichuka or cold noodles, I couldn’t help but check if the other Japanese restaurant were also offering the same.

I tried the one in Shinjuku ren but it was not up to par. (Sorry Yamazaki’s has become my benchmark). This time, it's time to try out Nihonbashitei’s version.

Meeting Mom and Tina’s

9:30:00 AM 0 Comments
One stressful day at the office (which was almost everyday!), we decided to reward ourselves with some home cooked goodness. Since I haven’t been there despite hearing it for such a long time (don’t ask my why I have never visited the place), we decided to go to Mom and Tina’s.

Located at Perea cor dela Rosa Sts. in Makati, Mom and Tina’s was fairly full despite that rainy night. Since I had an early dinner, we decided on baked snacks and coffee.

Despite the numerous rolls (and full stomach :P), the cake stand beckoned to us and we decided to end the night with a slice. Did not regret that additional calories. Haha!

Lunch was a sad affair

Lunch was an uneventful and sad affair today at Chef Bernard.com. Maybe because I just didn’t like what I ordered? Perhaps or perhaps not. If only I was not hungry, I would not have finish the shrimp linguine I ordered. I am not an expert on pastas but for someone like me who loves to experiment on pastas, this is not it. I couldn’t figure out if it was cream based or oil based. taste was on the sour side. Sorry. I felt like I could have spent my P240 somewhere else.
Twice I have eaten here. First was success, this time was not. The third visit I guess would be the tie-breaker Sad smile

La Cocina De Tita Moning

8:48:00 AM 0 Comments
Last July, our friends from Hakuhodo Singapore visited the office for a meeting and to cascade some information.

We at Axent wanted them to experience the best of what Filipino food can offer. Good thing our chairman highly recommended La Cocina de Tita Moning located near Malacanang Palace. Dining in the place was an experience in itself!

Hiyasichuka Shinjuku Ren Style

10:02:00 PM
I love Yamazaki's Hiyasichuka. This is where I discovered this Japanese cold noodles and I guess it became my benchmark for the dish.

Whenever I go to a Japanese restaurant, I check if they offer the dish. Shinjuku Ren along Pasong Tamo does, but it was not quite as well as Yamazaki's.

Shinjuku Ren's Hiyasichuka has an unappetizing presentation and seemed to lack the flavor of Yamazaki's

After a year with my underwater GE DV1, it is time to let go. I was quite happy with it. After all it has serviced me well in Palawan, Camiguin and even Subic. But then, it is time for something better.

Breakfast at CBTL

7:54:00 PM
I think having unhurried breakfast is one of the luxuries in life that I cant get enough of. I guess if you're working 12 to 13 hours a day, unhurried breakfast is very seldom.

One weekend morning, we decided to enjoy an unhurried day. After a workout (oh yes, I do sometimes! Hehehe) we ended up at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf at the ground floor of Greenbelt Residences.

A wonderful start to an enjoyable day!

Curry Lunch

6:38:00 AM
For lunch today, I tried the newly opened Chef Bernard.com along Aguirre st. Among their offerings, I tried the Thai green chicken curry. Yup, no regrets for my lunch. Aside from the fact that I love curry, the chicken was tender and really infused with the curry sauce. :D

Found out the cafe is owned by Randy Ortiz and former model Bernard Banares. Read more from  Philippine Star
